Trombone, Brass Choir or Ensemble, Trombone Ensemble - Advanced - Digital Download By Jacob Collier. Arranged by Michael Pilley. Score, Set of Parts. 55 pages. Published by Michael Pilley Musi
From his acclaimed album Djesse Vol. 3, this is Jacob's favourite track and lends itself beautifully to a trombone ensemble. With a hymn-like chorale and a bluesy solo, along with half the ensemble being bass trombones, this is a great showcase of your ensembles warmth and sensitive playing.
This is an advanced work scored for soloist, six tenor trombones, four bass trombones and a contrabass trombone (playable by a bass trombonist with extreme range). If you are lacking extra bass trombonists, you can substitute tenor trombonists for the top three bass trombone parts.
The soloist part is mostly improvisational and would suit a jazz player. Top two tenor trombones carry more of the melody, with the 2nd playing a higher range. The next four tenor trombones add a lot of colour to the mix with different mutes, and the background effects you can hear on the track, and require agile trombonists.
As played by Super Bone on YouTube.
Beautifully laid out in A4 size, the score and parts are easy to read and available NOW for digital download. We suggest you print on 80gsm paper, to ensure that the copies last longer in your bands library. If you're printing on letter size paper, please fit to page when sending to the printer.

Sampler - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1354408 By David Warin Solomons. By David Warin Solomons. Contemporary. Full Performance. Duration 261. David Warin Solomons #939127. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1354408). Instrumental version of my improvisation on Louis MacNeiceis Bagpipe MusicThe original poem is: It's no go the merry-go-round, it's no go the rickshaw,All we want is a limousine and a ticket for the peepshow.Their knickers are made of crêpe-de-chine, their shoes are made of python,Their halls are lined with tiger rugs and their walls with heads of bison.John MacDonald found a corpse, put it under the sofa,Waited till it came to life and hit it with a poker,Sold its eyes for souvenirs, sold its blood for whiskey,Kept its bones for dumb-bells to use when he was fifty. It's no go the Yogi-Man, it's no go Blavatsky,All we want is a bank balance and a bit of skirt in a taxi.Annie MacDougall went to milk, caught her foot in the heather,Woke to hear a dance record playing of Old Vienna. It's no go your maidenheads, it's no go your culture,All we want is a Dunlop tyre and the devil mend the puncture. The Laird o' Phelps spent Hogmanay declaring he was sober,Counted his feet to prove the fact and found he had one foot over.Mrs Carmichael had her fifth, looked at the job with repulsion,Said to the midwife 'Take it away; I'm through with overproduction'.It's no go the gossip column, it's no go the Ceilidh,All we want is a mother's help and a sugar-stick for the baby.Willie Murray cut his thumb, couldn't count the damage,Took the hide of an Ayrshire cow and used it for a bandage. His brother caught three hundred cran when the seas were lavish,Threw the bleeders back in the sea and went upon the parish. It's no go the Herring Board, it's no go the Bible,All we want is a packet of fags when our hands are idle. It's no go the picture palace, it's no go the stadium,It's no go the country cot with a pot of pink geraniums,It's no go the Government grants, it's no go the elections,Sit on your arse for fifty years and hang your hat on a pension. It's no go my honey love, it's no go my poppet;Work your hands from day to day, the winds will blow the profit. The glass is falling hour by hour, the glass will fall for ever,But if you break the bloody glass you won't hold up the weather.

Choral Choir (SSAA) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.505695 By Alan Wagstaff. By Alan Wagstaff. Arranged by Alan Wagstaff. Celtic,Folk,Holiday,Irish,Jewish,Traditional. Octavo. 23 pages. Alan Wagstaff #117353. Published by Alan Wagstaff (A0.505695). This original song uses English folk idioms to retell a traditional snowdrop legend. The chorus is an English 'weather rhyme'. It has been set for choir (SSAA), piano, harp, fiddle, and flute. One of the Snowdrop’s folk names is ‘Eve’s Comforter’; another ‘Maid of February’. Candlemas Carol Maid of February, if you will, grace mantle, hearth, and windowsill. So let us all be of goodwill and gather round, together. When Winter holds the world in thrall, and ice and snow lie over all, the Maiden can at once recall, the coming Summer weather. If Candlemas is fair and bright, cold Winter will take a second bite. But if this day brings clouds and rain, Winter won’t return again. When Eve and Adam left Eden fair, the snow and ice lay ev’rywhere, which filled their hearts with bleak despair, for they could find no pardon. They glimpsed the flowers of paradise, beyond the earthly cold and ice, but they could not be perfect, twice, nor get back to the garden. If Candlemas is fair and bright, cold Winter will take a second bite. But if this day brings clouds and rain, Winter won’t return again. A teardrop fell from Eve’s sad eye, and froze upon the ground close by. An angel raised it up on high, and called for Heaven’s power. The ice became a snowdrop, then. Thus hope returned to Eve again. And all the people say: ‘Amen!’ in praise of Winter’s flower. If Candlemas is fair and bright, cold Winter will take a second bite. But if this day brings clouds and rain, Winter won’t return again. Alan Wagstaff The legend tells that, after Adam and Eve were banished from Eden’s perpetual summer, they wandered, despondently, into Earth’s freezing winter. Eve wept as the snow fell around them. Seeing her tears, an angel intervened. He caught a teardrop when it froze and breathed on it, turning it into a snowdrop. When the angel left more snowdrops sprang up. Thus, snowdrops in Winter, serve as a reminder, that better times will come around. The tale was often recalled at Candlemas: February 2nd.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.927456 Composed by Roger Jones, Alison Fuggle. Arranged by Annie Routley. Christian,Easter,Musical/Show,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 98 pages. Christian Music Ministries #6135917. Published by Christian Music Ministries (A0.927456). Rock - a worship musical.Full piano score with SATB choir, solo parts and narration.Starting in Caesarea, Peter's story unfolds in flashback. From fishing, his 3 years on the road alongside Jesus and the disciples, his triumphs and failures. Jesus calls Peter 'the Rock' - but we see that only in Christ, and filled with His Spirit, is Peter on solid ground.Synopsis Traditional words introduce the theme of the Musical: Jesus is our ROCK OF AGES, but the story starts IN CAESAREA BESIDE THE SEA. Here, centurion Cornelius declares I’ve had a vision - but who can explain it, who can help? Cornelius’ household tell of Simon Peter, a disciple of Jesus, and we are taken back to Galilee when Peter, a fisherman, WORKING IN THE FAMILY BUSINESS, hears Jesus’ call to leave your nets and leave your boats. He responds I WILL FOLLOW YOU. For three years Peter follows Jesus, and when challenged declares YOU ARE MESSIAH, the Son of the living God! Jesus replies On this rock I will build my church, then, ominously, points towards Jerusalem. He and his followers eventually arrive in the city at Passover, and during the meal they wonder IN THIS BREAD, IN THIS WINE, is there love for me? At first reluctant, Peter allows Jesus to wash his feet. Events turn against Jesus; he is arrested, and Peter is afraid. The taunt SURELY YOU MUST HAVE BEEN WITH HIM sees Peter denying he ever knew Jesus. Then their eyes meet across the courtyard, and Peter is devastated by his own failure. But even at such an awful time as this, THE LOOK OF LOVE contains acceptance and hope. WERE YOU THERE WHEN THEY CRUCIFIED MY LORD? Peter wasn’t - he was in hiding along with many of the disciples. But after the resurrection, Jesus greets Peter and the others in Galilee: THIS IS THE PLACE – I am the Lord who comes to meet you here. Jesus asks: SIMON PETER, DO YOU LOVE ME? After being asked three times Peter reaches reality: Lord, you know everything … you know how much I love you! and receives the commission Feed my sheep. Peter and the disciples return to Jerusalem, and wait for the promised Holy Spirit. At Pentecost the Spirit comes, and as A CHOSEN PEOPLE, the followers of Jesus receive his power. Peter preaches, and thousands believe and respond JUST AS I AM … O Lamb of God I come. The Church is born and in the power of the Spirit begin WORKING IN THE FATHER’S BUSINESS, doing the things that Jesus did! Peter eventually arrives IN CAESAREA BESIDE THE SEA. He shares his vision with Cornelius and his household, and declares God has no favourites … you can be saved too … if you believe in Jesus. They believe, receive the power of the Spirit, and Gentiles also become members of the Chosen People, called out of darkness into wonderful light! Peter’s vision is fulfilled – the Gospel is for all who believe in Jesus. Peter declares HE IS THE STONE that the builders rejected … on Jesus the ROCK I will build my life! .

Violin Duet Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596615 By John Winstead and Miguel Angel Cotignola. By Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Celtic,Instructional,Irish. 5 pages. Juan Maria Solare #6208589. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596615). Highlands for two violins About the genesis of my work Highlands: There was a composition competition in Scotland (The Gordon Stewart Memorial Competition), they asked to write a short march for Scottish bagpipes. I said to myself: I don't know anything about the bagpipes, this could be an opportunity to get to know the instrument better. So I began to investigate and discovered that there is a huge literature, many works. Of course: all the works are impressively similar, because it is a relatively limited instrument (with forgiveness of the pipers). But this is an unimportant detail for our story. So, with a collection of bagpipe sheet music at hand, I began to investigate the possibilities of the instrument. And I made a huge mistake: Bagpipe scores are written without accidentals, but they are actually in A major. Sharps are not written simply because there is NO alternative. They can't play anything else (at least the traditional bagpipes), so the sheet music ommits the superfluous sharps. In short: then I composed my melody for that contest in A minor ... which is impossible to play on bagpipes. The fact of having written the melody on board a train prevented me from listening to dozens of works for bagpipes as a reference (at that time - June 2015 - I did not have a mobile internet connection). When I realized the mistake (in time) I rewrote that melody in major mode (well, Mixolydian ...), added some typical bagpipe ornamentation and retitled it: Ballone Castle (the name of the castle of the organizers of the contest, the Stewart Society). And now what do I do with the original melody, in minor mode? Instead of throwing it away (which I never do) I titled it Highlands, and it is the work that you are about to hear, or whose score you are holding. I didn't win that contest in Scotland. But I recorded Ballone Castle and posted it on Spotify: Ballone Castle (for bagpipes) - on Spotify (there is a version with drums and another without them). As for Highlands, the saxophone version was recorded by my Chinese friend Yu Han for the album Images of Elsewhere (Images of Elsewhere (saxophone)). In this case, there are also two versions: solo saxophone and sax with electronic sounds. The electronic sounds here actually simulate the typical bagpipe pedal (drone) note. A version of Highands for oboe Solo was recorded by John Winstead (Highlands (oboe solo)) Comparing both pieces (Highlands and Ballone Castle) it is verified how the simple change of mode (major / minor), in addition to the change of instrument, can work wonders for musical perception. They are two related but independent works, each with its own defined character - like two twins. But the story continues. In October 2020 I began an intense dialogue with the violinist Miguel Ángel Cotignola, from Mendoza (Argentina). I suggested him to film Highlands. He suggestd me to write a second violin part. I did it. He filmed it on the shore of Lake Potrerillos, in Mendoza (Argentina). This video can be seen here: Highlands (for two violins)Juan María Solare

?vocations? is a suite for Piano solo, impressionistic, contemplative much in the trail of Satie, Debussy or Mompou. Intimist and suitable for aesthetic pleasure. This is a series of works that will lead you into an exotic journey to far away places. Just letyourself be drift away to a better place where the sounds will healyour soul.
These Evocations range all degrees of difficulty, from very easy to more challenging ones. Therefore, are suitable for the classrom, recitals or family gatherings and parties.
Evocation I ? The Harvest
The harvest in Alentejo, Portugal, occurs when the fields become tanned and a soft, warm wind coming from the south blows. It is the time of the year when you grab your hat made of straw and you let yourself be sunk ina sea of rye.
Evocation II ? The Sepia photograph
Memories. They can be happy, bittersweet or painful... Sometimes nostalgia gets the better out of us. And then we are dragged into the past, into a suspended, slow and hypnotic time. Old sepia colored pictures in a drawer orscattered around our bed.
Evocation III ? The dead soldier
The battle is over. Amournful wife, the weeping children. An everlasting pain shutteringour heart. And the hope that wherever he is, he is in peace now. And we are all proud of him. Thank you for serving our country.
Evocation IV ? The composer
The tragedy of the blank page. An everlasting winter in our soul. Snow is falling, thepath is difficult to trail. Being an artist involves an incommensurable amount of suffering because we have to give it all. And even giving it all it isn't enough, and we feel drained and exhausted in the end.
Evocation V ? The Glowing Sun
The blond hair and the most radiant smile one could ever imagine. She is a glowing sun, like an everlasting shine in the sky. She doesn't walk, she floats with extreme elegance across the street, and in the corner, she doesn't turn ? she spins and swirls with heavenly grace.
Evocation VI ? The Far
Longing. Eternally. I hope you've read my letters. I hope you've heard my calls. I opened my heart to you. Why do you take so long? Why can't I hear your voice? Why do you keep me waiting here. Here, so close, yet... so far... alone... forever...
Evocation VII ? The Queen of Spades
The dark lady is the strongest in the deck. Mystical, fantastic, she wanders like a shadow in your world. Across the garden, carrying a sickle, she's just waiting to chop a head on the next turn.
Evocation VIII ? The Poem
A book, a sonnet. Fourteen verses with rigorous metric, with a defined purpose. A parlor game, a riddle. Can you guess what's hidden inside these wondrous sounds?
Evocation IX ? The Thinker
A desk loaded with books. The glasses. A mind always working, methodic, cold, rigorous. Numbers, hidden relationships, an everlasting connection with the abstraction.
Evocation X ? The Island of the Hydrangeas.
A paradise on earth, smooth rain, narrow and sinuous roads. Walking, then biking, then driving around. An adventure in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Evocation XI ? The Near
When you're here everything will be beautiful. I can see it already in my head, the endless, passionate love, a tender sweet kiss that will last forever. Your lips on mine, while holding hands, in the bench, in the garden, under the tree. You are the one.
Evocation XII ?Saffron rice
The rice is golden like your hair and your class. The sweet taste of nobility, the craft ofwisdom, the delicacy of experience. Maturity is what time brings, it is not a curse, it is a gift that we should embrace and respect.
